Summary
For objects that have record types, list views must be filtered by a single record type in order to perform inline editing. If the record type contains a comma, then inline editing permissions fall back to the layout assigned to the Master Record Type and not the page layout assigned to the filtered record type.
Repro
1. Create a record type on an object and include a comma in its name.
2. Assign the record type to a different page layout from the Master Record Type.
3. Create a list view on the object and add a filter for the new record type.
4. Permissions to inline edit fields on the list view will default to the edit permissions defined on the page layout assigned to the Master Record Type.
Workaround
Add the list view's fields to the page layout assigned to the Master Record Type and do not make them read-only.
