MobileConnect Double Opt In Confirmation Message not Sent on Shared Short Code

When using a Double Opt In message in MobileConnect with a Shared Short Code, the initial message is received but the confirmation message is not received.
-Create a double opt in message in Mobile Connect
-Text the keyword to begin double opt in, outbound response received
-reply with "YES" or other acceptance response
-the confirmation response is not received
1. Use a Private Short Code
2. Prompt contacts to prepend the keyword with the acceptance response ex. "Text JOIN YES to confirm"
