The Event Type field value disappears after the event is moved via drag and drop and re-saved on the Schedule.

When events are moved via drag & drop on the maps schedule calendar the event type on the event record is saved as NULL (blank). The events are created via Maps Advanced routing using a default value for event type = Planned Store Call.

Go to Salesforce Maps Settings.
Click Routes & Schedule tab.
Event Object Configuration is displayed. Under the Related Object Configuration section, there is a row of data with Account. Under the event type picklist on the Account row, select Meeting.
Go to Maps Advanced route and configure basic settings.
Go to Maps Advanced Visit Plans and create a visit plan.
Under name your plan and set up calendars tab, leave those default.
When creating a data set, leave steps 1 - 6 default.
On Step 7, for field, select type. for value, type out any of these options (it has to be one of the options in the list below because this field is a picklist and these are the default picklist options for this field):
Finish creating visit plan with default data.
Run the visit plan and wait till it finishes.
Once finished, navigate to Salesforce Maps and then select the schedule tab.
Go to week view.
Move event to a different day and click save.
When moving an event generated by Advanced Route, the Type field should have the value of what you selected in Step 7 in the visit plan.
Routes & Schedule configuration overwrite this field.
