Time Comparison in Collections shows totals for incorrect totals for "previous period" in some cases

In a Marketing Cloud Reporting dashboard, when using a "Previous Period" date range for the "compare to" period in the Send Date filter, the totals shown in the widgets for the "Previous Period" show the metric totals from the first day of the previous period through yesterday, rather than correctly showing the total from the previous period.
In the Send Date filter, for the Current range, select a custom range such as Feb 1, 2021 - Feb 28, 2021. In the "Compare to" range, select "Previous Month." In the widgets under "Delivery KPIs," the totals for "Previous Month" will display the total from Jan 1,2021 - yesterday.
Using a custom date range for the "Compare to" period prevents this from happening. For example, selecting Feb 1, 2021 - Feb 28, 2021 for the Current range and Jan 1, 2021 - Jan 31, 2021 for the previous period returns the expected totals.
