Outlook Integration “Log on Send” intermittently adds emails as Tasks instead of Email Message

The “Log on Send” button in Outlook Integration will some times add an email only as a task, and will not create an Email Message record.
1.- Compose a new email in Outlook desktop or Outlook Web Access
2.- Open the Outlook Integration and click on “Log Email on Send”
3.- Select a related record in the Side panel (contact or lead)
4.- Click on “Save”
5.- Send your email
Result: Some times the email is added as a Task record only, instead of an Email Message. Additionally, the email/task is associated according to the settings in email-to-salesforce instead of the records selected in the side panel.
The issue stems from timing and a workaround is to wait a couple seconds after the save before sending out the email.
