List view filters are locked in Lightning when filter logic is included and one of the filtered fields is deleted
Last updated 2021-10-12 ·Reference W-7398314 ·Reported By 18 users
When a list view includes filter logic and any filtered field besides the final filter is deleted, the filters will become locked in Lightning. Opening the fields panel in Lightning will return the following error message:
"Filters could not be applied. Please fix the validation errors below."
The validation error referenced is due to the filter logic referencing a nonexistent field, however the error is not visible and the logic cannot be adjusted in Lightning.
1. Create two fields.
2. Create a list view filtering on those two fields and include filter logic.
3. Delete the field referenced in the first filter.
4. Return to the list view and open the filters panel. Note that the filters are locked and the logic cannot be edited.
Edit the list view in Classic and correct the errors.
