Fixed in version Marketing Cloud Social January 2020 Release
The character count logic on Twitter is different between Social Studio Web/Desktop and Social Studio Mobile App. The maximum number of characters count on Twitter is 280, a Single-byte character uses 1 and a Double-byte character uses 2. When one enters a single Double-byte character(such as "あ"), the rest of character count should be 278. This works correctly on Social Studio Web/Desktop, however, on the Social Studio Mobile App, the rest of character count turns out to be 139.
1) Open Social Studio Web/Desktop and Mobile App.
2) Navigate to Publish > New > Twitter.
3) Input a Double-byte character(such as "あ") and see the rest of character count. You will see a discrepancy between Desktop and Mobile. The Desktop Version is correct.
Use the Desktop version to avoid this issue.
