“Refine By” Freezes the UI in Lightning Experience Global Search

Global Search in Lightning Freezes when using refine by filters.
1. Perform a global search. Do not navigate away from the page and do not refresh the page.
2. Perform another global search again.
3. Select an entity on the left sidebar to perform a scoped search and to bring up the Refine By section.
4. Perform a filtered search using the filters in Refine By. It will remain disabled and the filtered search will not be performed at this point the UI will be stuck/frozen.
After every search, either navigate away from the global search or refresh the global search page
