Lookup field input is reset/removed if filtered Date field is blank.

Lookup field value is reset or removed after typing some words. This issue occurs when the lookup field filters with Date field, and the Date field is blank in the Record.
A lookup field filters with the Date field that is null as default.
1. Open a Record Detail page in Lightning Experience
2. Double click or click a pencil icon in the lookup field
3. Type some words in the lookup field. The value is removed unexpectedly, if the Date field is null.
Edit the record with the Edit Page. (Click Edit button)
