When the default access of 'Document Checklist Item' object is set to Private, community users see an Invalid Page when accessing records

When Community Users access Document Checklist Item records, the page tries to load then the "Invalid Page" error is displayed. This happens when the default sharing access of the DCI object is set to Private.
The sharing access of the DCI object is controlled by the Original Parent Record or of the parent record's account.
The object should actually not exposed in the Sharing Settings.
1 Login to an org with FSC and Community
2 Assign the Document Checklist permission set license and permission set to the Community User
2 Enable access to the Document Checklist object thru custom Profile or permission set
3 Create a sample Document Checklist, ensure that it is shared to the Community User
4 In the Sharing Settings page, set the default access of the DCI object to 'Private'.
5. Login as the Community User, try to access the record created in #3, result: Invalid Page
1.Go to Setup | Sharing Settings
2.Change the default access of the Document Checklist Item object to Public Read/Write for both internal and external access.
Despite this change, the records will not be exposed to users that should not have access to the records because the actual sharing access is controlled by the Original Parent Record of the DCI record.
