Editing an A/B Test Send split on time audience can result in sending to the incorrect audience
Last updated 2018-04-18 ·Reference W-4736116 ·Reported By 0 users
When an AB Test split on time is created, the subscribers are built at time of creation. Other splits build the subscribers at send time. When edits are made to the audience, it appears to save but the subscribers are not updated with the new audience. When the sends go out, it will be to the original audience used on original creation.
1. Create a new AB Test Send split on date/time. Set the start time of the first send to enough time that you can edit the AB Test Send before it sent out. Thirty minutes should be sufficient.
2. Allow enough time for the split of the AB Test Send to initialize. Five minutes should be enough.
3. Once the AB Test Send initialization has completed, edit the AB Test Send and change the list or data extension for the AB Test Send.
4. When the AB Test Send occurs, the send will go to the subscribers from the original list or data extension, not the updated.
1.) Do not edit the audience.
2.) If edits to the audience are necessary, cancel the AB Test Send and create a new one.
