Enable seamless navigation across communities of different custom domains without forcing users to sign in twice

Summary
Customer has 2 communities: community1 and community2 on different custom domains.
If the customer logs into community1 and clicks a link which redirects them to community2, they are required to login into community2 again. Customer is looking for a way to switch to community2 without re-entering the credentials. This does not currently work across even using the switching of networks.
Actual Results:
Prompted to login again while switching between communities
Expected Results:
Once you log into 1st community, users shouldn't have to log back in again when switching to another community
Repro
REPRODUCER:
1. Create a community say napili1 with custom domain set as x00dxx0000001gez0.com
2. Create a community say napili2 with custom domain set as x00dxx0000001gez1.com
3. Create a customer portal user and login to x00dxx0000001gez0.com
4. Now switch to community napili2 using the url as https://x00dxx0000001gez0.com/servlet/networks/switch?networkId=0DBxx000000006i (0DBxx000000006i is site id for napili2.
The user is asked to re-login to napili2.
