Summary
Some customers may have noticed that they encounter the following error when attempting to install a package:
Organization: AW Computing (00D0X000000Xxxx)
User: Test User(005X000000XXXxx)
Package: Test Package (04tXx000000XXxx)
Error Number: 1797534637-73095 (1958600534)
Problem:
1. (Custom_Object__c) Can't specify an external sharing model for Custom_Object__c
Custom_Object__c: Can't specify an external sharing model for Custom_Object__c
The behavior is observed in orgs that do not have External Sharing enabled.
Repro
1. Ensure that External Sharing is disabled
2. Attempt to install package - packaging/installPackage.apexp?p0=04tXx000000XXxx
3. Observe that the install fails with the following error:

1. (Custom_Object__c) Can't specify an external sharing model for Custom_Object__c
Custom_Object__c: Can't specify an external sharing model for Custom_Object__c
Workaround
- Enable 'External Sharing' by going to Setup | Security Controls| Sharing Settings | Click on "Enable External Sharing Model"
Note: you can follow the same steps to disable External Sharing once the install is complete.
