Article Management page is blank in a Classic Service Console launched from Lightning

In Lightning Experience, if a Classic Service Console is launched, selecting Article Management will result in a page that isn't fully rendered. No article listing will be available.
1. In Lightning, click the App Launcher and open a Classic Service Console. A new window or tab will be opened.
2. In the console, select Article Management.
3. The page that opens will have options to modify the view, but no Article listing will be displayed on the page.
Switch to Classic before launching the Service Console.
