When a community user endorses another as Knowledgeable on a Topic an email notification is always sent.
The email states, "You can hide yourself from the Knowledgeable People list on the topic page. If you appear on the page, click "Hide me" under your name. Otherwise, click "Endorse People" to find yourself and click "Hide me" next to your name.
You're receiving emails when someone "Endorses me on a topic.""
However, it's not possible for community users to configure or set either of these preferences from within a Lightning Community such as Napili.
For more details see the article: "Hide Me" for Topics is only available in Salesforce Classic
- Create a Customer Community using the Napili Template.
- In Community Management | Administration | Preferences enable "Enable knowledgeable people on topics"
1. Create a test Account and Contact and enable them to access the Community:
Note: Ensure that you have set your own email address on the corresponding Contact record and the resulting customer user record.
2. Login to the Community and create a Topic: TestTopic
3. Navigate to the Community User's detail page that you created in step 1.
4. Click the "Add" button in the Knows About section of the user detail page and add an endorsement for the TestTopic you created in step 2. | Close.
Actual Results: The community user receives an email notification:
from: Your Community Name <Emailaddress@domain.com>
Subject: <FirstName LastName> endorsed you on the topic TestTopic
Body: Endorsing user's name here (OrgNameHere) endorsed you on the topic TestTopic
Congratulations! You're considered knowledgeable on TestTopic. Check it out on the topic page: <LinktoCommunityHere>
You can hide yourself from the Knowledgeable People list on the topic page. If you appear on the page, click "Hide me" under your name. Otherwise, click "Endorse People" to find yourself and click "Hide me" next to your name.
You're receiving emails when someone "Endorses me on a topic."
To change or turn off Customer Community email, log in as <UsernameHere>."
Expected Results: The email notification that's sent out for community users should not include the part about "Hide me" or setting email notification preferences since these options are not available in communities.
None at this time.
