Update Contact Activity within Journey Builder converts the numeric value to scientific notation (1.23457e+006) which causes updates to integer type fields to fail.
-Journey Builder > New Journey
-Give it a name
-Drag the update contact activity onto the canvas
-Select a Data Extension with an integer field
-Select the integer attribute
-Give it a value of 123456789123456789, save
-Create an entry audience to inject records into the journey
-Choose the journey re-entry settings
-Note the update fails
Below are several different workarounds.
-Change the target field type to decimal with 0 places after decimal to retain the whole number format.
-Use a text field type instead of integer.
-Use values that are 6 characters or shorter.
