Duplicate Value error occurs when adding an Opportunity Stage value that was previously deleted

If a delete operation fails for an Opportunity Stage Picklist value and you attempt to add this value back into the field a duplicate value error will occur.
1. From the Opportunity Stage field create a test value.
2. Now delete this entry and this will move to an inactive value.
3. Delete the inactivate value which should allow you to add the value back to the field.
4. Lastly, attempt to add the previously deleted value back to the Opportunity Stage field.
If the previous delete operation failed you will receive a Duplicate Value error preventing you from adding the value back.
None. You will need to setup a case with support to clear the duplicate value before you can add it back to the Stage field.
