Salesforce for Outlook - Composing a new email from Adobe with attachment causes Outlook to become unresponsive for a few minutes

Summary
When we open Outlook by using the Send feature on Adobe Reader and attach the PDF file to the Salesforce contact in the side panel, the process will stall for 2 minutes before sending
Repro
1. Close outlook
2. Open a file with Acrobat Reader
3. In Acrobat Reader, click on File | Send (via email) \Send from Outlook
4. Relate the email to the Salesforce contact in the side panel. Select the attachment
5. Send
