User gets "Another user recalled or responded to this request" error when approving a record in Lightning

Users may see the following error when approving a record in Lightning:
"Another user recalled or responded to this request"
Although an error is shown the record is still approved.
1. Login as a user
2. Submit a record for approval
3. Login as the Approver
4. Switch to Lightning UI
5. Approve the record
Record is approved, but Approver gets "Another user recalled or responded to this request" error.
Record is approved.
Currently, there is no workaround for this sporadic issue as this is not affecting the approvals process. This issue does not occur when approving records using the Classic interface. The product manager is aware of this issue and will review this in a future release.
