Summary
Using Journey Builder Test functionality is creating an IER record for the for the corresponding salesforce record in Salesforce. But as per document, it should not be created for test send:
https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=mc_jb_journey_testing.htm&type=5
"This test mode allows you to view their simulated paths through the journey without sending messages to them or affecting tracking or reporting"

Repro
1) Create a new journey with an email send in an MCC integrated account..
2) Click on "Validate".
3) After sucessful validation, click on "Test Journey".
4) Choose contacts.
5) Send type "Send Only Test Messages" and provide an email address.

The email will be sent to the given email address and at the same time an IER will be created for the selected contact.

Workaround
While using the test feature, un-check the option 'Send Tracking Results to Sales Cloud', perform the test and while activating the journey, re-check the option end Tracking Results to Sales Cloud. This way, the IER will not be created for test email send.
