In addition to uploading images, documents, and other files, it is also possible to contribute Web Links to Content libraries by specifying the link’s URL.
However, following the Summer ’16 release, ampersands contained in link URLs are not being escaped correctly when users attempt to open the link by clicking the [Open] button from the Content’s record detail page.
As a result, an ampersand symbol in a URL (&) will improperly be converted to &
1- Log in using Firefox or Chrome.
2- Click Libraries tab.
3- Click the [Contribute] button.
4- Click ‘Do you want to link to a website instead?’.
5- Enter a URL containing ampersands and press [Contribute].
6- Click [Save]
7- Click [View Content]
8- Click [Open].
9- Confirm that all ampersands (&) in the URL are changed to &
It is possible to workaround this issue by opening the Content file from its Files record detail page and clicking the 'Open' link on the left side of the screen.
