Process builder throws "Unsupported action type: null" error unexpectedly

You might see an unexpected error with the message "Unsupported action type: null" when running the flow by any means (either through Process Builder or trigger or a login flow)
If you are hitting above error message try to identify the appropriate flow or process involved in the transaction.
Deactivating and Activating the affected process/flow fixes the problem.
If you are not able to find out the affected flow / process please log a case with Salesforce support and provide this KI.
