Summary
When splitting a data extension that lives in a shared folder, and designating the Data Extensions folder of a business unit, the resulting data extension is not viewable in the business unit.

Repro
1. Find a data extension in a shared data extensions folder in a business unit
2. Click Split
3. Change the location from the shared folder to the data extensions directory
4. Pick the root data extensions directory (or relevant subfolder), click OK
5. Click Save and Build

You will see after doing this that the data extension is created but not visible due to it not being tagged with the correct Member ID for the business unit.

Workaround
When splitting data extensions that live in a shared folder, create the splits in the same shared folder, and move them to the desired location after the split.
