Case related list behavior is not consistent between salesforce classic and lightning experience when using Person Acounts

If you create a case in LEX and populate the Contact Name field with a person account and the Account Name field with a business account it doesn't not show in Lightning but it does in classic UI case related list.
1) Go to the a Business Account record and create the case using the new button on the Case related list. This will populate the Account field with the Business Account.
2) Populate the Contact Name field with a person account and the Account Name field with a business account
If you leave the Account Name field blank it will auto-populate with the Person Account on save of the case so you won't see the issue.
