PATCH "contacts/v1/contacts" route is not throwing an error

When making a PATCH call using the REST API to /contacts/v1/contacts to update a contact, the response can error and fail to update the contact although the call receives a successful 200 response.

1. Make a PATCH call to /contacts/v1/contacts to update an existing contact to fail list detective, such as adding the word "spam" to a contact's email address.

2. Observe that a 200 response giving an OK is seen but the contact is not updated.

There is no workaround for this issue.
