French special characters are added to sitemap.xml incorrectly resulting in broken links and sub-optimal SEO
Last updated 10 days ago ·Reference W-7235420 ·Reported By 4 users
When sitemap.xml is automatically created, each page title is evaluated and a corresponding URL for that page gets added to the sitemap.xml.
When a page title contains a french character, the corresponding link for that page gets incorrectly terminated at the first occurrence of the french character which results in a broken link getting added to sitemap.xml.
For example, if a french page title begins with the word "méthode" the link that gets added to sitemap.xml would incorrectly stop immediately after the first letter 'm' causing a broken link and sub-optimal SEO.
1. Follow this documentation to Set Up SEO for your Community - https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=networks_seo.htm&type=5
2. Make sure one of the available community page URLs includes a french character like "é".
3. Check the sitemap.xml for that community page URL and copy/paste the link into a new browser tab.
Actual Result: The sitemap.xml link to that community page URL is broken because the link to that page incorrectly stops at the location of the first french character.
Expected Result: Sitemap.xml links to community pages with french characters should not be broken and the automated link creation process should support french characters.
