Summary
After syncing the Opportunity object (or making a recent change to it) to the Marketing Cloud, an incorrect Relationship will be created between the two Objects.
Should you have a custom field and Lookup between Opportunity and Contact, the Marketing Cloud will sync the two Objects on a field named ContactID, not your set custom Lookup field
Repro
Pre-req
- Sync the Contact Object to the Marketing Cloud
Repro
- Sync the Opportunity to the Marketing Cloud
- Go into Contact Builder and your Salesforce Org Attribute Group
- Notice how Opportunity links to Contact on ContactId, not your custom Lookup
OR
- Amend the Opportunity (already sync) object after the August '19 MC Release
- Go into Contact Builder and your Salesforce Org Attribute Group
- Notice how Opportunity links to Contact on ContactId, not your custom Lookup
Workaround
No work-around is present at this time. We'd recommend customers not to make changes to their Opportunity object, if possible.
