Marketing Cloud Connect Sends via Sales Cloud are delayed and send between 15 to 30 minutes after schedule time

When a Marketing Cloud Connect (V5) send is performed from the Sales Cloud (Single Send from Contact, Send from Campaign or Send to Reports/Campaigns, etc) the status on the Email Send record pauses at Processing Stage and Messages show Retried data retrieval. Approximately 15 to 30 minutes later the send will complete and tracking is returned. This will occur when the API user is not integrated as a standard user.
1) Access integrated Salesforce ORG - Integrate the SF ORG with MC, but DON'T integrate the API user as the standard user.
2) Integrate another user.
3) Attempt a send using the Marketing Cloud Connect managed package using that second user. Examples include: Single Send from Contact/Lead, Send from a Campaign or Send to Campaign/Report
4) Send status becomes stuck Processing and Messages show Retried data retrieval.
5) Wait approximately 30 minutes and the send will deploy
Send directly out of the Marketing Cloud to required audiences.
Integrate your API user as a standard user.
