Winter'20 - Duplicate entities are shown under "Standard Tab Settings" in profile
Last updated 5 days ago ·Reference W-6716786 ·Reported By 40 users
In Winter'20, some tabs, such as "Chatter", "Analytics", and "Quick Text" tab are shown as duplicate under "Standard Tab Settings" in profile.
Previously, tabs exclusive to Lightning Experience like Calendar and Email Templates didn't appear in the Tab Settings section of profiles, which meant they couldn't be hidden. We have exposed all of those Lightning-only tabs in the Tab Settings list, and you may now set them to Default Off or Tab Hidden for profiles who didn't see them.
A few tabs in Salesforce Classic and in Lightning Experience have the same name, such as Chatter and Quick Text. You see two instances of these in the list.
1. Login with the admin user.
2. Go to [Setup] | [Manage Users] | [Profiles].
3. Click standard "System Administrator" profile.
4. Confirm 2 "Chatter", "Quick Text", and "Omni Supervisor" tabs are shown under "Standard Tab Settings".
To determine which tabs is for which UI:
1.Go to [Setup] | [User Management Settings].
2.Enable the [Enhanced Profile User Interface].
3.Open a profile.
4.Open [Object Settings].
5.Hover the tab name and see the tab's URL, which usually indicates which UI the tab is for. For the Chatter tabs, however, ObjectsAndTabs&o=Chatter in the URL indicates Salesforce Classic, and ObjectsAndTabs&o=Feed means Lightning Experience.
