In Lightning Experience, predefined Values on a Quick Action button are no longer populating the assigned default value when Amount field is added on Quick Action Layout. This issue does not occur in Classic experience.
Login as Admin
Turn on Lightning Experience
Create new custom field on Opportunity Object
Field Label: Date Earned
Create new action on Opportunity Object
Action Type: Update a Record
Label: Close Opportunity
Click Save to be navigated to the Close Opportunity Action Layout
Add ‘Date Earned’ and ‘Amount’ field to Close Opportunity Layout
Click Save to be navigated to Close Opportunity Action edit screen
On Close Opportunity Action edit screen, create a new Predefined Field Values
Field Name: Date Earned
Formula Value: Today()
Navigate to Opportunity Page Layouts and Opportunity Layout
Select Mobile & Lightning Actions to add Close Opportunity Action to this section on the layout
Note: If you are not able to drop and drag this action to the Mobile & Lightning Actions section on layout, click Override Predefined Actions to confirm that the Close Opportunity Action is added to this section
Navigate to App Launcher and select opportunity
Create new Opportunity and fill in all required fields and save
On newly created Opportunity, click Close Opportunity button to be navigated to Action modal
Note that Date Earned field does not populate ‘today’s date’ based on predefined field value requirement.
If ‘Amount’ field is not needed on the Quick Action layout, remove the field from the layout and the predefined value will populated as desired.
