Summary
After Summer’19 using Lightning, validation rule error message on a read-only field is not displayed when inline editing a custom object record in Lightning.
Repro
Using Lightning,
1.Create two custom fields(Ex. A and B) on a custom object.
2.Set Field Level Security A as editable and B as read-only.
3.Create validation rule on A
-Set error condition as ISBLANK( A)
-Set any error message.
-Select error location as B.
4.Create new custom object record with any value in A.
5.Inline edit the record and delete all value in A. Click Save and confirm error message is not displayed under B.
Workaround
Set error Location of Validation Rule to “Top of Page‘ or any fields which user have Edit permission.
