Invalid Page Error In Communities When Using the Direct Messaging feature
Last updated 2017-10-14 ·Reference W-4097514 ·Reported By 1 users
Summary
When using Direct Messaging in Communities, reloading the page (and possibly other actions related to navigating to the page) can cause an "Invalid Page" error.
Repro
1. Create a Community
2. Enable "Direct Messaging" (https://help.salesforce.com/articleView?id=networks_enable_direct_messages.htm&type=0)
3. Add an item that points to the messages page in the navigation header
4. Navigate to the Messages page
5. Refresh the page
Workaround
Instead of adding Messages to the navigation menu as Type Community Page, add a page of Type External URL, and set URL to "<community URL>/messages/"
If you've already encountered the error, you can get back to the Messages page by navigating back the Community home page and clicking the "messages" navigation menu item again.
