Lightning - Internal Server Error when trying to switch tabs

Certain Users/User Licenses might receive an Internal Server Error (stacktrace -1988296602) when trying to access an App.
1. Log in as a Salesforce Platform user.
2. Access Lightning Experience.
3. Go to the App Launcher and try to switch it.
