Sandbox activation process may take longer than expected to complete

Typically, the sandbox activation process will complete relatively quickly however, there are variables such as the size of your organization and number of users that may contribute to differing activation times.
Please keep in mind the variable nature of the time to completion for activation of a sandbox is expected to some degree and not all occurrences of longer than historical timings will be due to this known issue.
However, if you're finding that a sandbox has remained in activating status for longer than 24 hours please raise a Support case in order to verify whether or not it may be related to this or an alternative issue.
Note: It will be necessary for your Support case to be escalated to a member of the Tier 3 Support team to properly verify whether your refresh may be impacted by this specific issue.

Actual Results: The sandbox shows in Activating status for an unusually long amount of time typically > 24 hours.
Expected Results: Depending on the size, customizations, and number of users the sandbox should typically activate in a matter of minutes or hours.
Typically the activation process will complete eventually. However, if your sandbox has been in activating status for more than 24 hours please contact Support via a case for further investigation and in order to identify if the behavior you're seeing may be related to this KI.
