Summary
From Lightning: When delete an activity of any type (task, email, event) from the Activity Timeline the user does not remain in the current parent record home page as expected. Instead they are navigated back to the Object Home or Application Home page depending on how they originally navigated to the current record.
When internal user delete the task from:
1. Open Task detail from contact/Account Activity: On delete it takes them back to Contact Page [Expected]
2. Activity timeline: On delete User lands to Task list view or someTime lands to deleted task url [Not expected: As it should land back to parent detail]
When external user delete the task from:
1. Open Task detail from contact/Account: On delete it takes them to Task list view. [Not expected]
2. Activity timeline: On delete User lands to Task list view [Not expected: As it should land back to parent detail] **on delete redirect url: https://<community url>/s/recordlist/00T/Default
Repro
1. Create a Task for a Contact
2. Click on the Contacts Tab
3. Select the Recently Viewed List View
4. Click on the contact from step 1 in the List View
5. In the Activity Timeline click the row level action drop down for the activity created in step 1 and select Delete
6. Confirm the delete
7. User is navigated back to the Contacts Object Home page
or
1. Create a Task
2. Click on the Contacts Tab
3 Go back to Task tab
4 Delete the task you just created.
6. Confirm the delete
7. User is navigated back to the Contacts Object Home page
or
1. Go to any contact record from list view, create a task from the 'Activity' : Task tab > Save.
2. delete the created task record from the timeline and see user directed to Task list view [Not expected]
3. repeat Step 1: now open the task and delete, we see user directed to 'Contact' detail page [Expected]
4. perform same step by login as community enabled user having access to contact record & activity time line (with delete access on contact)
Workaround
N/A
For internal user: Open Task detail from contact/Account Activity & delete, this will take you back on record detail.
