Formula field referencing a picklist on a related object does not function correctly in Process

When you have a Process with an Action that does an update to a field on a record with the value of a formula field from a related object record, if that formula field is referencing a Picklist, it won't work. The Process is triggered, but the field is never updated.
Create a Formula field on Account which references a picklist field on it's parent account:
CASE (Parent.Rating, "Warm", "Warm", "None")
Create a Process on Account with any criteria, and add a record update which sets some field to reference the formula you created, for the account's parent:
Field: Account Description
Finally, create three accounts in a chain: GrandChildAccount -> ChildAccount -> ParentAccount
Set ParentAccount's rating to Warm, and trigger the process on GrandChildAccount. GrandChildAccount doesn't get the correct picklist value for the ParentAccount's rating field.
If you try setting the formula to something that isn't a picklist, say Parent.Name, it will work properly.
