Clicking Case Number in a case feed item will render duplicate Highlight Panels

When a User has a Case open in the Service Cloud Console and then clicks on a reference to the Case Number in the Case Feed, it duplicates the Highlights Panel.
1. Go to Console App
2. Click Cases tab
3. Click on a Case Number to open the Case record
4. Within that Case record, click on the Case Number in the Case Feed
5. You will see this action duplicates the Highlights Panel
Current workaround is to close and reopen the tab with duplicate panels.
