Starting 9/22/13: 5:17:42 AM UTC, some customers on NA13 started experiencing intermittent Internal Server Errors while performing DML (insert, update, delete) operations using the UI or API.
Retry the operation. The issue is intermittent and the vast majority of transactions are unaffected.
Salesforce team implemented a fix on 9/27 9:00 AM GMT which was successful.
