Salesforce for Outlook - Side Panel Publisher Action Person Account Lookup

In Salesforce for Outlook Side Panel, when attempting to create a Case utilizing the Publisher Actions, the user will be unable to search for a Person Account record in the Contacts Lookup field. This will be prevalent in all Publisher Action objects that utilize the Contact Lookup field.
Note the Publisher Actions are part of the Lightning Experience features. The behavior experienced in SFO will be seen in the online application as well.
In the Salesforce for Outlook Side Panel:
- Expand the Publisher Actions
- Select New Case
- In the layout, locate the Contact Lookup field and begin entering a Person Account record name
Result: No Person Account records will return in the query
