Account name field producing unreliable results when converting from Lead on Salesforce1

If the company name already exists as an account, the field is automatilcally populated, however it gets associated to the wrong account after creation.
The issue occurs only when there are accounts which starts with the same name like Acme, Acme1, Acme2.
1) login through salesforce1
2) Within salesforce 1 go to leads
3) Go to lead that has a company name that is an account already (i.e. ACME)
4) Click Convert
5) Possible to have the newly converted contact roll to another account that already exists (i.e ACME1)
You can work around this by selecting the right account at the lookup search results.(By clicking on the magnifying glass next to the account name field)
