Extra Clear Icon appears on entering text inside search box for IE 10 and above browsers

Some customers may have observed that they see an extra clear icon (x) when they type text in to the search box when using IE 10 and above versions.
This is a feature that was introduced by Microsoft in versions 10 and above, please refer to the following - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2813492
R&D plan to address this issue so that users would see consistent behavior i.e., a single clear icon instead of 2.
- Log in to your salesforce org via IE 10 or above
- Start typing in the Global Search text box
- you will notice 2 clear icons (x)
- Use a different browser
