Opportunity Owner Share Gets Deleted When Opportunity Account is Changed
Last updated 2022-02-10 ·Reference W-2454195 ·Reported By 6 users
Summary
When an Opportunity Owner changes the Account on the Opportunity, the Owner share access is inadvertently removed and the Owner no longer has Full Access to the record.
This issue only occurs if the External Access for Account Sharing Settings is set to "Private" access. If External Sharing Model is not enabled, then Account Org-Wide Defaults need to be "Private" for this to occur. Additionally, the issue only occurs if the Opportunity Owner does not have sharing access to the new Account.
Repro
1. Have a non-admin access an Opportunity record that he/she owns
2. Change the Account to a different Account
3. Notice the Opportunity Owner no longer has Full Access to the Opportunity
Workaround
An Administrator will need to toggle the Opportunity Owner to a different User and then back to the original owner.
