In lightning, App Launcher component in the home page will not display the apps. Also, there will be a message displaying as follows: "You don't have access to any apps. Ask your Salesforce admin for help."

if we change the local file names to a different case(like from uppercase to lowercase or lowercase to uppercase) and then use sfdx force:source:push command to push this local code to the source we get an error 'getSourcePath' of undefined

Record Types which are inaccessible to the user, gets filtered out but that is still counted as part of results. Count and actual returned results count from SOQL query on RecordType is incorrect.
