Email preview enhancement for Individual Email Results

Email & Email Templates

Today Individual Email Results (IERs) create little value due to two constraints, e.g.

Constraint #1, the email thumbnail is housed in an iframe set to a height of 200px, which as seen above cuts everything off just below the header and hero image. If the height parameter of the iframe could be reset from 200px to something more appropriate, we are able to see the entire email.

Constraint #2, The system is creating the IER thumbnail of the email at a size of 700px by 700px by taking the height of the email setting it to 700px and letting the width proportionally scale, then setting it on a white background at 700px wide. (I’ve put a boarder around the thumbnail below to illustrate its parameters.)

If instead of letting the height dictate the proportionate width of the email thumbnail, if that could be switched to let the width dictate the proportionate height, then this thumbnail can create real value. Below you’ll see I’ve swapped the URL for the system generated thumbnail in the HTML with a URL from a thumbnail set to 500px (as an example). This IER can be seen and read easily. (I’ve only screenshot the top portion for space considerations here)
