Make myTrailhead content downloadable if it's not in your browser's cache.

myTrailhead

Currently the myTrailhead content is stored in your browser's cache. This has two big downsides:

If you have to take over the myTrailhead content management from someone else, you'd better have the backpacks available somewhere, or you're lost.
If you clear your cache, you loose all your content.

If you'd be able to download/import content that is in myTrailhead, but not in your cache, it would be very benificial for the administrators.

This would be great to be about to save work in progress. I think the workaround for now is to create your units completely outside of myTrailhead, and once you have all agreed that the content is just what you want, then and only then add it to myTrailhead. At that point you then should only have to make pretty simple formatting updates. Same for assessment questions. Plan them outside and then add when correct and approved.

harddisk died last week, all content gone. A lot of hours of work now lost. This is so needed!

The way MyTrailhead content management is saved is MyTrailhead's biggest issue. If your cache is cleared for any reason before you've saved a backpack you've lost your work. This is made worse by the fact that you can't download an incomplete module; MyTrailhead requires you to have an assessment/badge/points/time/roles/products/etc assigned before it will let you download a backpack. This means either you're putting in false data in order to be able to backup your work or you're not backing up your work.

We definitely need something like this. Even if you're not taking over for someone else, there needs to be a way to back up our work. Its not reasonable to expect that every project will be completely finished in a single working session and be able to be published. We need a way to back up our work so that, in the event we need to clear the cache of our browser, we don't lose everything. Currently you can't even create a backpack for a module that isn't completed.
