Sharing Settings for Knowledge__kav object

Knowledge

Since, with lightning knowledge the object model has been converted to converge all different article types to one Knowledge__kav object with record types instead, the security model to contol the visibility of different articles for different user groups. While the change has been made to include Knowledge in the mainstream object model, the Knowledge object is not supported by org-wide sharing rules.

Sharing rules should be enabled for the new Knowledge__kav object as well.

Org admins can use standard sharing to control record access for Knowledge Articles. This includes Role based, Owner based, and Criteria based sharing. It also works with all user include guest users and high volume users in Communities. This functionality was delivered in the Winter '21 release. To learn more, please see: https://releasenotes.docs.salesforce.com/en-us/winter21/release-notes/rn_knowledge_sharing_guest_hvcu.htm.
