Display total # of records in lightning list view when 50+ records displayed

If you have 50+ records in a lightning list view, Salesforce does not display the total number of records.  It just states "50 + items" at the top of the screen.

It only counts the number of records that are on display at any one time.  So to get the total number of records you have to scroll down until they are all displayed on the screen.

Please change this so that it displays the total number of records in the list view regardless of how many are currently on the screen.

I'm sure there are many use cases for this but our service desk agents would find it particular useful as they have to regular assess workload and number of cases in a particular list view.  Having this displayed automatically would prevent them from continually having to scroll down to get the total number.
