Allow custom object fields to be used as email tags
Marketing & Content Tools
Users would like to be able to use field values from custom objects in emails to prospects. This would also require a rules system to define which related custom objects are used for email tags for each prospect. Thanks to Dan Van Kley for the idea!

Hi Bryan, I received an update from Salesforce this week: "This feature is currently in pilot and we expect the first iteration to be delivered in the Winter'20 release this year (which will happen in October 2019)"
