Configurable default list view in Lightning Experience

Lightning Experience

Currently the default list view shows "Recently Viewed" records. Most users expect to see all records they can access and are confused by the default view during their first use of the platform.  

A similar problem exists with classic. The work-around ( of creating a Visual Force page ends up inserting class UI into the list view as there's currently no way to generate a list view using Visual Force that uses the Lightning style.

    We had many ways to deliver this feature and based on research, scope of work, and this poll, we selected the ability for an end user to set their own personal default as the best option. To learn more about what was Delivered in Spring '19, please see:
