B2BMA Datasets contain Pardot PROOF email sends, click, opens skewing nbrs
Analytics & Reporting
The B2B Marketing App in Analytics Studio shows different engagement metrics on Emails than what is on the Pardot Reports for the same asset. It appears to include PROOF Email sends and subsequent opens and clicks on those PROOF emails.
Steps to recreate: In Pardot, Go to Marketing / Emails / Drafts - open up a Draft Email, Edit Draft, click on Testing Tab - send to either a Test List or individual emails. Click Send button. This sends an email with the word PROOF added into the subject (pardot adds this in), for review to validate the content is accurate.
Issue is, if we open the email or click on any links, which we need to do to validate the content, these opens and clicks are included in the Pardot dataset that feeds the B2B Marketing App Dashboards. Specifically the Engagement Dashboard.
We can add a filter on a LENS to remove the proof emails, to confirm that the dataset is in fact including these PROOF emails - but we do not want to recreate the Lenses and Dashboards and filter these out on every Lens, or Dashboard Component.
We verify the numbers in the Dashboard against the Pardot Reports for the asset - which shows the differences and then after the PROOF emails are filtered out, the numbers align.
We believe the PROOF Emails should not be included in the OOTB B2B Marketing Analytics datasets.
